1995 – 1997

Role

Machinist / Programmer / Webmaster

Description

I was hired at Elastex in 1994 as a machinist to work with various metals and urethanes in a small shop. During my time there, I began learning ASP, HTML and other web coding tools. I built a small e-commerce site that allowed customers to place orders online and communicate with the owner and support members quicker than had been previously available. The site used an ASP/HTML front end with a Microsoft Access database back end. It remained in use until about 2001 when the hosting company decided to no longer support Microsoft products and the owner didn’t want to find another hosting company that could be used.

I also created 3D models of many of the products we sold so customers would have the most accurate information about the items they need.
